San Diego CA Warehousing and DistributionSummary: The Employers Training Resource (ETR) will cover a four county region: Inyo, Kern, Mono, and Tulare counties. The ETR proposes to place 134 area veterans into long-term employment. Targeted veterans include: recently separated, service-connected disabled, campaign veterans and those facing significant barriers to employment. The average starting wage will be at least $15 per hour. ETR will be transitioning with employers relocating to the area. Due to the central location of ETR, warehousing and distribution centers are attracted to the area. Months after hire, the average veteran will earn at least $17 per hour. 191 veterans will receive core services. ETR has successfully operated EDD employment programs in Program Years 2003-04, 2004-05 and 2005-06. Occupations to be offered include: office clerks, correctional officer, bookkeeper, maintenance and repair worker, stock clerks, sales representatives, office managers, automotive service technicians and mechanics.
